As the Head of Research and Development, I have been responsible for overseeing all research and development activities from inception up to decommissioning products. I have successfully set strategic direction for R&D efforts, managed a team of researchers and developers, and delivered projects on time and within budget.
During my career as an R&D leader I have pivoted large product development for success multiple times. By optimizing team composition, architectures, and leaning ways of working to move into an earlier timeframe of delivery with a sustainable path forward reducing technical debt to ensure innovation power of the organization.
After 20 years of loyal service to Philips working in a diversity of roles from technical leadership to senior management positions leading global R&D organizations up to 400 people, I moved to ASML where I am in charge of leading the software architecture group responsible for driving a harmonized and rationalized architecture in one of worlds’ largest and complex codebases for one single product.
My technical capabilities range from conventional technologies in software and hardware up to emerging technologies in digital, cloud, and AI technologies. I have lead the shift from innovating products to services and the accompanying operational responsibilities in 24/7 DevOps and security/privacy and legal operations.
